President Trump Signs Executive Order Regarding the Federal Procurement of Goods from Abroad and the Hiring of Non-American Workers

4/18/17: President Trump signed an executive order today directing the chief officials of all federal government agencies to develop and propose policies for their agencies to ensure that Federal financial assistance awards and Federal procurements maximize the use of materials produced in the United States, including manufactured products; components of manufactured products; and materials such as steel, iron, aluminum, and cement.

Congressional Republicans Amend Health Care Bill in an Effort to Reduce Insurance Premiums

04/06/17: The Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Paul Ryan, said today that the Congressional Republicans have made “real progress” on their bill to repeal and replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (“ACT” or “Obamacare”), citing a proposal that would subsidize the high costs associated with people who have pre-existing medical issues and lower health insurance premiums. Ryan said the Republicans will add the proposal to the American Health Care Act today.
