  • Oracle (ORCL): Oracle Corporation announced that it signed an agreement to acquire, a privately-held provider of tools that enable data science teams to work collaboratively on data-driven projects.
  • Microsoft (MSFT): Bloomberg reported that Microsoft Corporation is planning to release a line of lower-cost Surface tablets as soon as the second half of 2018 to compete with Apple’s (AAPL) iPad. According to Bloomberg, the devices will have a 10-inch screen and be priced at approximately $400.
  • Walmart (WMT): Walmart Inc. announced that it will launch its Lord & Taylor online store within the next few weeks, which will offer more than 125 clothing brands, including Tommy Bahama, Vince Camuto, Miss Selfridge, La La Anthony, Lucky Brand, H Halston and Effy.
  • Universal Electronics (UEIC): Universal Electronics Inc. reported that its Board of Directors authorized the company to repurchase up to $10,000,000 of its common stock.
