  • Sears Holdings (SHLD): Sears Holdings Corporation announced that a special committee of the company’s board of directors initiated a formal process to explore the sale of Sears’ Kenmore brand and related assets, as well as the company’s Home Improvement Products business and the Parts Direct business of its Sears Home Services division.
  • Qualcomm (QCOM) and NXP Semiconductors (NXP): Qualcomm Incorporated announced that it extended the offering period of its previously-announced cash tender offer to purchase all of the outstanding common shares of NXP Semiconductors N.V.
  • Xerox (XRX): Xerox Corporation announced that it terminated its agreement to combine with Fujifilm Holdings Corporation and that it entered into a new agreement with Carl Icahn, whereby Mr. Icahn will withdraw nominations of any other director candidates for election at the company’s 2018 Annual Meeting of Shareholders.
  • Facebook (FB): Facebook announced that it suspended approximately 200 applications as part of its application audit in response to the Cambridge Analytica scandal. According to Facebook, the suspended applications will be subject to a “thorough investigation into whether they did in fact misuse any data.”
