U.S. Aircraft Carrier Strike Group Headed toward Korean Peninsula

04/19/17: According to several media reports, Admiral Harry Harris, the Commander of the U.S. Pacific Command ordered the USS Carl Vinson strike group to begin sailing today towards the Korean Peninsula in the Western Pacific Ocean in response to military threats against the United States made by North Korea’s dictator Kim Jong-un.

04/15/16: U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady, who’s the Chairman of the primary tax-writing committee in the United States House of Representatives – the Committee on Ways and Means – commented today on new rules issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) on April 4 regarding tax inversion schemes. Those rules make tax inversions – the re-incorporations of U.S. corporations in countries that have lower corporate income-tax rates – more difficult.

11/19/15: By a vote of 289 yeas to 137 nays, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill today that would halt the settlement of Syrian and Iraqi refugees in the United States and overall the screening process used to accept those refugees. 47 out of 188 House Democrats voted “yes” while all but 2 of House Republicans voted “yes” on the bill.

Obama Administration Ends the Training of Syrian Rebels to Combat ISIS
