General Electric (GE)
General Electric (GE) is one of the world’s larger companies, in terms of annual revenues, ranking as the world’s 31st largest company for the year ended December 31, 2017. In addition to developing and manufacturing products for the generation, transmission, distribution, control and utilization of electricity (nuclear, gas and solar), the company manufactures aircraft engines, locomotives, oil and gas exploration and production equipment, water processing equipment, medical imaging products, and industrial automation equipment. The company was founded during the year 1892 by Thomas Edison and went public during 1896, becoming one of the original 12 companies listed in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. It’s the only one of those original 12 companies that’s still included in the Dow.
