06/07/18: Broadcom (AVGO) reported that its net income from continuing operations before income taxes, excluding restructuring, impairment and asset disposal charges, rose by 187% on a 19.7% increase in the company’s revenues, an 8.4% increase in its cost of goods sold and an 8.9% decrease in its operating expenses for the three months ended May 6, 2017, as compared to the same period a year ago.

Conn’s (CONN) reported $15.5 million of income before income taxes, excluding losses on extinguishment of debt, on a 0.7% year-over-year increase in the company’s revenues, a 3.1% decrease in its cost of goods sold and a 6.3% decrease in its operating expenses for the three months ended April 30, 2017, as compared to the same period a year ago. For the same period a year ago, the company reported a $4.2 million loss before income taxes

Hovnanian Enterprises (HOV) reported that its loss before income taxes widened to $8.1 million from $7.5 million, excluding losses on extinguishment of debt, on a 14.2% decrease in the company’s revenues, a 16.6% decrease in its cost of goods sold and a 6.5% increase in its operating expenses for the three months ended April 30, 2017, as compared to the same period a year ago.
